Shining Movie Vision comes
The 8Bit Philosophy – A Commodore 64 Symphony. Written and directed by Konstantin Stuerz, this documentary shines a light on the Commodore 64 (C64), retro music, and the people behind it.
As you get older, you often look back at your childhood. If you ever had a C64, it's very easy to get nostalgic about the times you played those classic games with your friends. After a couple of years, a huge underground scene envolved where people got creative with making so-called 'demos', which basically was a multimedia presentation where the makers showed off their skill in three areas: programming, graphics, and music.
Some of these people keep a warm nostagic feeling by remixing the old game and demo tunes, some are radio DJ's playing these tunes to people from all over the world, some are still making game music, and some keep sites to preserve 'everything C64'. These guys keep the scene alive, and it's them this documentary is about.
The documentary features interviews with all these known C64 personalities: Chris Hülsbeck, Markus Schneider, Thomas Detert, Allister Brimble, DHS, Jan Zottmann, Markus Holler, Reyn Ouwehand, Markus 'LMan' Klein, Eike 'Romeo Knight' Steffen, Volker 'Dr. Future' Buckow, John 'Ziphoid' Carehag, Press Play on Tape, Kenneth 'Slaygon' Mutka, Andreas 'Morpheus' Wallström, Mattias 'Fnord' Bergsten, Marcel Donné, and Simon 'Psymon' Dorn.
At Back in Time Live Stockholm 2008, the visitors will be treated with an exclusive 15-20 minutes clip, and will later be able to download the full-length movie.
